Steve Jobs is up to new marketing tricks in conjunction with the imminent launch of Ipad.  Facebook now has an AppStore Application, for the Iphone and Ipod Touch lovers.  Vitrue, the same company responsible for the official iTunes Facebook page, made it all happen.  Oddly enough, they do not mention the Ipad in the blog release.  This looks like a seamless fit of the digital world’s two most popular development applications.  Apple has over 150,000 mobile applications along with the marketing cache.  Facebook has the social platform to spread the words.  People will be able to share their favorite applications with friends on several levels. Here are some of the features, courtesy of Vitrue’s social relationship manager:

- A “Featured” tab including highlights from the App Store, such as “App Store Essentials,” “App of the Week”  and Top Charts listing the most downloaded apps

– A “Games” tab to showcase featured games and Top Charts specifically for Games

– A “Search & Share” tab allowing fans to search for their favorite apps (via the App Store API) and share them with their friends without ever leaving Facebook

– Vitrue’s SRM (Social Relationship Manager) powering advanced wall posts, complete with scheduling, tracking and moderation capabilities

Vitrue management will continue rolling out more interactive features as the Ipad gains market share.  They will also listen to feedback from Facebook friends.  The relationship will be yet another interesting development in social media.  Facebook, amongst other tech executives, want to find the fiscal model for sustainable revenue growth.  The partnership of these development powerhouses may have the answer. Stay tuned.
