Another Giant Jumps into the Cloud-Based Market

After Microsoft’s Office 365, Google’s cloud-based apps and Apple’s iCloud for stocking music, photos, documents and more online; today another giant player jumps into the cloud-based market. Adobe just announced Adobe® Creative Cloud. Following its press release, “Creative Cloud will become the focal point for creativity, where millions can access desktop and tablet applications, essential creative services, and share their best work.” Part of this strategic service is the launch of a new set of Adobe Touch Apps for content creation on tablet devices and the acquirement of TypeKit; a leader in the delivery of hosted, high-quality fonts for website-use.

Adobe’s entrance into the tablet market not only gives creative professionals a new experience in expressing their works through their fingertips, but also frees them from computers and allows tablets to become conveniently portable, virtual sketch books.

Aside from deeper interaction on an individual level, Creative Cloud is expected to also make an impact on a social level, by giving creative people reinvented tools for social media. Adobe Creative Cloud will include 3 main functions: Apps, Services and Community. Hence, the question is: “Will Creative Cloud become Facebook for creative world?”

The product will be released in November 2011 at an introductory pricing of $9.99/app.
